Where it all began
Our founder and inventor, Tracy Mair-Jones, spent time hiking in the mountains with Bailey, a street dog she had found — thin, injured and abandoned.
After taking some time away from regular exercise, Tracy wanted to regain her fitness, build strength and lose some weight. She realized that if she wanted to build strength while hiking, she would need to carry a set of dumbbells — but she also needed to carry sufficient water for herself and Bailey.
Carrying two full bottles of water and attempting to carry two dumbbells soon became a juggling act, and it just wasn’t convenient. She began looking for something that could help her do both.

Turning an idea into a product
What began as an idea gradually developed into a product designed around a simple concept: why carry a water bottle and separate weights when they could be combined?
Weights2Go was designed as a pair of sports water bottles, incorporating removable and interchangeable weights — practical for people who enjoy walking, hiking, running and other fitness activities, making it easier to combine hydration and resistance training all at once. Zero juggling involved.
The product continued to evolve through design and development, with functionality, convenience and an active lifestyle at the heart of the process.
Weights2Go has been awarded both Utility and Design Patents.
As the concept developed, so did the need to protect the design and innovation behind it. For Tracy, obtaining patent protection was an important milestone — turning an idea that began on a mountain into something tangible and protected.
The original idea also led to another practical solution. Tracy designed a purpose-built Weights2Go waist pack, allowing the bottles to be carried comfortably while keeping your hands free — we don’t always want to be handling weights, especially when climbing a very steep mountain.
The pack was also designed with room for everyday essentials such as your phone, keys, money and other small items. It became another part of the same idea: make being active more convenient.

The next chapter
Creating a new physical product takes time, determination and investment. The next major step for Weights2Go is bringing the product into its first full production run.
We’re currently working towards the tooling and manufacturing stage, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
From one idea to a new way to move.
What began with a simple need while hiking in the mountains has grown into a patented product, designed to bring hydration and light resistance strength training, together.
There is still a journey ahead, but this is only the beginning.
